I like to think about this group of work as "drawings with objects". They are very much mixed media, and tend to grow organically. For me assemblages always come from an emotional place. They exist as my way of working through things which cannot be verbalized. They also satiate my desire to problem solve, to build. They tap the unconscious. It can take months to finish one, with me running around finding the perfect part, color, texture, object. I've been told that they are cryptic, but i believe they communicate enough information for the viewer to make their own decisions about what i am projecting. Also, their obsessive qualities define part of what they are.
